10th annual Stevie® Awards will be presented on June 18 in New York City and September 17 in San Francisco
SAN JOSE, Calif., May 10, 2012 – Tanis Communications, Inc., a Silicon Valley marketing and communications services firm, has been named a Finalist in the 2012 American Business AwardsSM in two categories, Communications Team of the Year, and Telecommunications Website.
The Communications Team nomination recognizes Tanis’ role at Oclaro, a leader in optical components and modules for the telecommunications, industrial and consumer markets. Since 2009, Tanis has functioned as Oclaro’s outsourced communications team, orchestrating its communications strategy and program execution, ensuring message consistency for internal and external corporate and marketing communications.
Tanis also provides communications strategy and program execution for IntelePeer, a provider of on-demand, cloud-based communications services for enterprises and service providers. As part of a brand strategy and messaging refresh, Tanis helped IntelePeer simplify the story on its website, through refreshed brand positioning and messaging; improved navigation; addition of new graphical images and icons to emphasize the benefits; and the creation of an intriguing flash animation to tell the company story simply and effectively. Tanis was named a Finalist for its work on IntelePeer’s website.

The 2012 American Business Award Finalists were chosen by more than 140 business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April and May. More than 150 members of 10 specialized judging committees will determine Stevie Award placements – Gold, Silver or Bronze — from among the Finalists during final judging, to take place May 14 – 25.
