Job Description
As a key member of the agency’s executive team, the Vice President, Public Relations will lead the PR programs for a select group of high technology clients. This person is also responsible for managing and growing Tanis’ public relations team, service offering, and client base. The ideal candidate has a passion for technology, a deep understanding of technology businesses, and is a thought-leader in PR amid the changing media landscape. Specific responsibilities:

  • Develop objectives, strategies and manage the implementation of client PR programs
  • Develop PR plans and timelines, write press releases, blogs and other PR deliverables
  • Manage analyst, media and blogger relations on behalf of clientsCreate and pitch stories
  • Monitor competitive news and recommend competitive strategies
  • Manage messaging and positioning strategies
  • Draft executive communications, speeches and business presentations
  • Conduct media training
  • Accurately forecast budgets and manage a team of Agency resources
  • Pitch and secure new clients for the company
  • Keep your team motivated, aligned and doing great work

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum ten years’ experience, preferably as a PR executive inside a large, publicly traded technology leader or as a senior executive of a large PR agency serving publicly traded technology clients
  • Deep knowledge of high technology, semiconductors, EDA and/or related businesses
  • Established relationships with journalists, particularly high technology media, bloggers and business press
  • Proven results with highly strategic corporate PR initiatives
  • Experience with executive communications, technology marketing, and as a spokesperson
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, solid judgment and creativity
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Deep understanding of company strategy, products and technologies
  • Strong presentation skills
  • A customer service orientation to ensure agency exceeds client and media expectations

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field is required
  • Master’s degree in communications or MBA is desirable.
