Case Study: Driver AI

AI and SaaS Case Study: Driver AI

The Opportunity

Driver AI was emerging from stealth mode with an AI-powered platform that instantly decodes technology and automates the creation of interactive documentation, a typically time-consuming process. In a time when the media has become tired of AI-everything, the opportunity was to establish Driver’s platform as a compelling use case built on Generative AI and announce its $8 million seed funding.

The platform’s audience was semiconductor and embedded engineers who rely on documentation to understand how complex technology works and how it can be used and implemented within an application or finished product. Engineers typically dedicate at least 50 percent of their day to tedious documentation tasks, critical time away from developing new products and innovations that could drive company growth and expansion.

The PR challenge was developing a narrative that would capture the attention of the semiconductor press, which does not typically cover SaaS companies or documentation.

Our Strategy

We partnered with the Driver team to develop messaging across press, web, and social media. Through our deep relationships with semiconductor and business press, we connected Driver with the press that would reach their audiences: embedded, semiconductor and OEM engineers, investors, and C-level executives.

We highlighted the startup as a generative AI use case. We laid out the platform’s benefits to the semiconductor and engineering audiences, focusing on how Driver speeds up documentation and can save them time and effort. We demonstrated the platform as a needed use-case for the financial publications and spotlighted the $8 million seed funding. For some publications, we combined the importance of the funding and the new platform.

We also leveraged the great founder story behind Driver. Tanis highlighted the experiences that inspired the team of engineers to develop Driver so other fellow engineers could relate to and understand the need for faster technical documentation and solve an archaic process.

While some startups often pursue an exclusive story to secure business press coverage, we decided against the exclusive route and instead scheduled pre-briefings with business and semiconductor press ahead of Embedded World North America, where Driver would officially be launched.  Driver’s primary goal was to create awareness within the semiconductor and electronics press. In addition to the press activity, Tanis advised the Driver team on event management and logistics.

The Results

We exceeded our coverage goals through our deep and established press relationships and by creating a compelling story. Tanis received interest, scheduled briefings, and secured unique articles from dozens of top-tier business and semiconductor press. Driver received high-profile coverage for both the company’s launch and the funding announcement. The successful press campaign helped increase interest at Embedded World and allowed Driver to share their vision and platform with their targeted audience.
